Polimeri AD was founded in 1961 in Devnya. The first plant was for production of chlorine and polyvinyl chloride. In 1983, a modern for the time scavenging installation for diaphragm-grade caustic soda was commissioned under license from PPG – USA. In 1988, a dichlorethane production facility was built and commissioned. It was designed by "Toyo Engineering" – Japan, under license from "Mitsui Tuatsu" – Japan, and has a capacity of 120 000 tons/year. 99% of the production is intended for export. The new chlorine-alkaline electrolysis was commissioned in 1991 under license from HUCKER and a designed developed by UHDE - Germany. The Company holds 8 patents (for inventions, a trademark and know-how). Our trademark has been registered and legally protected at the Patents Office. "Polimeri" has its own electricity substation, which is part of the energy network of the country. The majority shareholder in "Polimeri" AD is the financial and industrial concern AKB CORPORATION, holding more than 62% of the shares. |
